Day 1 &2 New Forest Food Festival

Well we were well prepared,and set up gazebos on the Friday. Sat morning 6.30 arrived at site to set up the tables and products all arranged and then we heard the devastating news at 10am that they had to cancel festival that day as the high winds and rain were going to worsen. Sunday would be forecast sun all day so we packed our things away, soaked and disappointed we went home awaiting the bright forecast sun in the morning as predicted . Well I sat with my cocoa and watching sat night tv with my feet up and the news came Sunday food festival cancelled. I can't tell you how disappointed we were after all the setting up and preparation. No ones fault but the heavy rainfall and high winds had caused havoc in the night. Our tents survived but many of our neighbours had their tents damaged and indeed some blown away the field was a quogmire and tractors spent the day pulling many traders out of the mud. What a shame for everyone. Such a well organised event so cruelly stopped. But on the up side we will look forward to next year to do the same again hopefully bathed in glorious sunshine and we are now ready and prepared for Ellingham show next Saturday. That will be a great show as always. Here's to the summer and the Great British weather. Our bees 🐝 need the sunshine now 🙏.
